NextFaux Flower FAQs
Faux flowers are artificial flowers designed to bring the beauty of fresh blooms into your home, season after season. Made from a variety of materials, our stems are designed with shape, colour and texture. Most are hand-finished, with the little details that make you look twice.
We love flowers at that fleeting moment when they’re at their best, just before they begin to fade. Our faux stems capture that feeling and, with a little care, keep it for years to come.
Beautiful blooms, whatever the season
Our faux stems are designed to look as close to the real thing as possible: softly shaped petals, varied colour tones and foliage that brings movement to an arrangement. Style a few favourite stems in a vase or gather flowers, branches and foliage for something wonderfully abundant.
A home that changes with the seasons
You can keep the pieces you love and change a few stems as the seasons turn. Fresh greens and blossom branches for spring, deeper foliage and berries for autumn, then bring your favourites back out the following year.
Made to be enjoyed for years
There’s no watering or wilting to think about. With low maintenance cleaning and careful storage, good quality faux stems can be enjoyed and restyled for many years.
Flowers without the pollen
Faux flowers let you enjoy a floral display at home without bringing in pollen from fresh blooms. They’re a wonderful option for those with pets or anyone that suffers with allergies.
Faux flowers are designed to last, and with a little care, they’ll stay looking beautiful for many years to come.
1. Display with Care
- Avoid direct sunlight to prevent fading
- Rotate stems occasionally for even wear
2. Keep Them Clean
- Dust regularly using a soft cloth or duster
- For hard-to-reach areas, use a hairdryer on a cool setting
- For marks, gently wipe with a baby wipe or lightly damp cloth
3. Be Mindful with Water
- Only place stems in water if they are plastic (not paper-wrapped)
- If you cut the stems, seal the ends with clear nail varnish or glue to prevent rust
4. Store Them Properly
- Clean before storing
- Keep in a cool, dry place away from sunlight
- Use a sturdy box with lid
This depends on the size of the vase you're using, as well as the neck opening of the vase. The larger the vase and neck opening, the more flowers you'll need.
As a very general rule of thumb:
Small Pots/Vases: 3-6 stems
Medium Vases: 6-12
Large Vases: 12-18
Check the dimensions of your vase and chosen stems before ordering, and don’t be afraid to use fewer stems for a more relaxed look.
Start by bending the stem so it's in proportion to the size of your vase. Real flowers rarely stand perfectly straight, so open out their side branches and vary their heights and direction to emulate a natural, gathered look. Aim for your overall arrangement to be roughly 1.5x the height of your vase.
Read our arranging guide here.
Think about a mix of shapes and textures rather than choosing every stem in the same style. Foliage helps give an arrangement structure, whilst larger, focal blooms draw the eye, and delicate, filler stems add movement.
We only recommend that you cut the stems if you are using a clear glass vase where bent stems might look fake or untidy. If you do cut a stem, use wire cutters, and seal the end with a bit of clear nail varnish or super glue so you can fill the vase with water to enhance the flowers realism, and stop the wire inside the stems from rusting.
Choosing the right vase for your artificial flower arrangement depends on where you are intending to display your flowers. If you're styling them on a coffee table or shelf, a small vase or pot is best. But for somewhere like an entry console table or kitchen island, something bigger with more presence that makes an impact might be better.
